What’s The Process Of Troubleshooting Linksys Velop From Web-Based Interface?

If you are unable to set up secondary nodes to the primary Velop node through Velop app, then you have the option of using web interface for the same process. To know what the process is, check out the tutorial.
Linksys Velop is a new age routing device, which promises better internet connectivity with more area coverage. Just as how important the hardware of Linksys Velop setup is, its mobile application is equally important for setting up and controlling the device. If you have bought Linksys Velop Router and trying to set it up via Linksys Velop app, but couldn’t do so due to some reasons, then don’t worry, use the web-interface of Linksys Velop router instead.
Here is what you need for that:
  1. Check the node if it is in factory settings or not. If not, then reset it to factory defaults.
  2. Check if Velop is connected to computer wirelessly or via Ethernet.
Once you have checked these two things, then you can move onto the setup process of Velop node:
  1. On your computer, launch a web browser and enter ‘routerlogin.com’.
  2. You will see a smart Wi-Fi page on the screen now.
  3. Click ‘Desktop-blocking.html’ and replace it with ‘setup.html’.
  4. When prompted, enter values in username and password fields. Enter ‘admin’ in both fields.
  5. Select the desired Wi-Fi settings in the SSID and password fields.
  6. Click the option that says ‘Save Setup Node’ as doing that will save the node as master and the password of the web interface as ‘admin’.
  7. Once you’ve added the nodes, click ‘Finish’.
In case, you are adding the node wirelessly, enter SSID of Velop network. Now, you can easily set up the primary node using Velop setup interface.

Setting up Network Connection

If you are experiencing issues while setting up an internet connection, then follow below-mentioned points.
  1. Open ‘routerlogin.com’ in the web browser of your computer.
  2. Click ‘Velop’ logo and wait until the page loads.
  3. Enter ‘admin’ in both the fields to log in.
  4. Click the ‘CA’ option now, which you can find at the bottom of the screen.
  5. Tap ‘Connectivity’ from the main dashboard followed by going to ‘Internet Settings’. Now, click ‘Apply’ once you change the connection type, then ‘Save’ to save the settings.
  6. Open ‘Velop Setup’ and set SSID along with the password for Velop network. Click ‘Setup node’ to move ahead with the steps.
  7. As you click on setup node, you will have to enter below-mentioned details.
    1. Set node mode to ‘Parent’.
    2. In the password field, select ‘admin’.
    3. Set ‘Node 1’ as the node name.
  8. Click ‘Ok’ now and check the network connection. Make sure to save wireless settings on the node and you’ll be able to connect to new SSID of your Velop network.
  9. Now the primary node is set up successfully and similarly, you can add a secondary node. Just turn the node on and wait for the solid purple light to appear. From the main menu, click ‘Add additional nodes’.
Note: As you add the nodes, the option will grey out, which indicates that the nodes are transferring information to the primary node. If you get solid purple light on the secondary node, proceed to the next step.
  1. Connect the secondary node to the primary one physically. You will see the light indicator blinking after some minutes, which will turn solid blue. As it turns blue, the secondary node is ready, so you can place it anywhere in the room to access the internet.
  2. Click the option that says ‘Done adding nodes’ to finish the process
